Season 5, Episode 02 –
This week on Fletchers’ Family Farm, Kelvin and Liz start making plans to reclaim more of their farmland so they can expand their arable ambitions. Kelvin is keen to grow oats again, in the hope that this year’s crop will make grade for porridge and not animal feed, while Liz wants them to try growing maize so they can host a summer Maize Maze event, and sell the crop too. All four kids get hands-on helping during lambing, and it’s the job of 9-year-old Marnie to bottle feed a cade lamb after it’s rejected by its mother. The pigs are doing well and it’s time to separate the girls from the boys as they make plans to start breeding. And after grafting on the farm, the whole family takes a break to enjoy the bluebells that have flooded their woodland floor during spring.
